Han and Fran are two best friends from Llandudno in North Wales. During their normal lives, they worked together in an office doing administrative work.
Their everyday jobs were very different from performing on television in front of famous judges and a huge audience.
But the two friends shared a special love outside work: singing, especially ABBA songs.
Best Friends and “Soul Sisters”
Han and Fran said that music helped bring them closer together. They called themselves best friends and “soul sisters,” because singing was an important part of their friendship.
They also had a big dream when they came to Britain’s Got Talent. They wanted to represent Wales and hoped they could become the first Welsh winners of the show.
Then they stepped onto the BGT stage.
Their ABBA Medley
Instead of performing only one song, Han and Fran decided to perform an energetic ABBA medley.
They sang several famous ABBA songs, including “Take a Chance on Me,” “Dancing Queen,” and “Mamma Mia.”
They also danced around the stage and clearly enjoyed themselves.
Soon, the audience started clapping and dancing. Han and Fran became even more energetic as they felt the audience’s excitement.
What started as a talent-show audition began to feel like a big party.
Their Biggest Strength Was Their Happiness
BGT has had many amazing singers with technically strong voices. Han and Fran stood out in another way.
They looked like they were genuinely having fun.
Their friendship was easy to see. They laughed, danced and reacted to each other throughout the performance.
The audience understood the fun atmosphere they wanted to create.
The official BGT channel later described them as bubbly office workers whose personalities and stage presence made their audition memorable.
They Went Further Than the Audition
Han and Fran successfully moved on from their first audition and later returned for the live semi-final with another ABBA-focused performance.
This time, the production was bigger and there was much more pressure.
They finished second in their semi-final, behind dancer Binita Chetry.
At first, they thought their BGT journey was finished.
But then they received a surprise.
They were chosen as the Wildcard act, which brought them back into the competition for the Grand Final.
For two best friends who never expected to get that far, becoming finalists was an incredible achievement.
From Office Workers to BGT Finalists
Han and Fran later said they never imagined that simply applying for the show could lead them all the way to the Grand Final.
Their Wildcard announcement completely surprised them.
They returned to the stage one more time for the Final, where they performed another huge ABBA medley.
Their journey was an amazing transformation.
Not long before, they had simply been working normal office jobs in North Wales.
Now they were performing live as Britain’s Got Talent finalists.
Sometimes a Performance Just Needs to Make People Happy
Han and Fran’s audition worked because they did not try to act too serious or too cool.
They knew exactly what they loved:
ABBA.
Singing.
Dancing.
Performing together.
And that was exactly what they brought to the BGT stage.
Two office best friends walked onto the stage hoping to represent Wales.
A few minutes later, the audience was dancing with them.
Months later, those same two friends were standing in the Britain’s Got Talent Final.
